SuccessFactors 2016 Performance and Goals Management Updates summary

It’s time for new update cycle 1608 release, and SuccessFactors has announced some incredible new capabilities in Performance and Goals Management.

Have a read through our summary of the most important 2016 SuccessFactors Performance and Goals Management features which has confined the new dimensions for organizations to reinvent their performance review process.

Major Announcements

The biggest announcement is that all major functional gaps between PMv11 and PMv12A have now been closed in this release.  PMv11 and GMv11 will be supported till end of 2016 with no additional feature enhancements.

Release Updates

New feature Released ‚Continuous Performance Management‘

SuccessFactors have released the Continuous Performance Management (CPM) feature in the SuccessFactors mobile and web app which integrates with its Performance & Goals talent management module to enable more frequent, goal-oriented interaction between managers and employees.

Continuous Performance Management includes features to assist with Meeting Agenda Building which tie back to an employee’s goals. Frequent manager-employee interactions are promoted through reminders and notifications.

CPM Integration with Performance and Goals Management:

  • Activities within CPM allows users to link to either their Performance Goals and/or to Development Goals.
  • Capability to Integrate the Annual Summary view with in Calibration sessions, supports in decision making by easily surfacing achievements from CPM.
  • CPM achievements which are linked to Performance Goals and/or Development goals during the form review period are displayed on a new Achievements tab with in Performance Forms under respective sections.

N.B. For any customers already using CPM, you will be required to update your permissions, as in this release SuccessFactors is releasing a new set of permissions for CPM which need to be configured immediately when the new release is activated in Production Instances due 9th September.

This is an early version of the integration and it comes with several limitations, so enhancements to make this more functional are expected to be made available in the next few releases.

Performance Form Updates

There are a number of Launching Performance forms feature enhancements, one of the previously outstanding features including;

  • It is now possible to launch forms for group of employees with new option to upload the .csv file without having to use employee search.

  • A new step with tab name as “Edit Intro text description in Mass Create”, appears in the Launch Form process where the user can edit the introduction text. Launch Form with introduction Text
  • The Team overview tab on performance form can now be permissioned only to the managers who manage the team
  • The form parts Goal Details, other details tab, Achievements tab (with CPM details) sit below the comments box

    User Interface Enhancements

    To improvement the look and usability, there are some changes to the user interface that you may notice;

    • Minor User Interface changes (font size, padding, updated icons, etc.) on Performance Forms, and on Goals forms for better usability and experience with Fiori switch enabled in provisioning.
    • User interface changes to the PMv12A Route Map on the Performance Form with numbers added to each step, the current step name is highlighted in bold, and the Iterative and Collaborative steps are denoted by “people” symbol.route map 1608 new look

      Goal Management Updates

      • Reinforce permissions when manager assigning Group Goal 2.0 to employees different group of employees.
      • Team Goals are a great new features that allows managers to create a goal for his/her team without goal having to appear on the manager’s goal plan.  Team goals includes all functionality of Group Goal 2.0 without forcing the manager to share the goal accountability.Team goal
      • Initiatives, administrators can create corporate, departmental and/or division level initiatives and further enable employees to actively associate their own personal goals to those initiatives.Initiative

        A Few Final Reminders

        • The official End of Maintenance for PMv11, old PMv12 and GMv11 is planned for the Q2 2018 release cycle.
        • The official End of Life for PMv11, old PMv12 and GMv11 is planned for the Q2 2019 release cycle.
