With the February 2013 support package SAP provided the new infotype 3346 for the UK to record the sexual orientation of an employee. This information may be required to comply with the 2010 Equality act. Unsuspecting UK customers experienced problems in payroll and HR master data amongst other processes after implementing the support package.
Running payroll as well as changing infotype 0002 lead to short dumps (uncontrolled program exits), unless two steps are followed. The errors would look like this:
Even, if you don’t want to use this data, the new infotype needs to be set up and exist as an empty shell. It is no independant infotype ypu can directly open via transaction PA20 or PA30, but sits in the background and is viewed and maintained through infotype 0002 (just like UK infotype 0280 with the working time directive data is maintained through infotype 0016). When creating new employees, it will be created automatically, when IT 0002 is created.
To get rid of the errors after implementing the support package, here’s what you need to do:
1) Create this entry in T588M:
2) Run Report RPUPAV00 with country grouping ’08‘ and delimitation date 1.1.2013 for all relevant personnel numbers
If you are using dynpro 2008 for UK employees in infotype 0002, the new field is now available:
To keep it hidden, we recommend to just hide it in table T588M as any other field. You could also cut IT 3346 off from IT 0002 completely by deleting the 3346 entries in customizing views V_T582V and V_T582W, but then you’d need to run the program mentioned above again, when you start using the new data.
Most customers are using dynpro 2044 rather than 2008 for employee data, so wouldn’t see the new field, unless they change the dynpro assignment in T588M. As dynpro 2008 is meant for applicant data rather than employee data, further changes from SAP are likely.
