With the May Support Package for HCM SAP created a new authorization object „Authorization Time Periods for HR Master Data (P_DURATION)“ for system with the version 6.04 – 6.08 (ERP 6.0 with EHP 4 – 8).
With the authorization object P_DURATION it is possible to block access to personal data from the past (stored in Infotypes) by users. This could be required if data needs to be available due to legal retention periods for or is still required for other processes, but active use or processing by users should no longer be possible, because of data privacy rules.
This takes into account that SAP HR users in different roles require access to the data for different periods. Depending on the type of HR data (infotypes and subtypes) and the country grouping, minimum permissibility periods can be defined in configuration. These can then expanded for individual user roles and assigned depending on certain organisational attributes (such as personnel area, employee group, employee subgroup).

I have just tried implementing this object but infact it does not work. It is not being checked at all. I have customized this as suggested but it is not working. have you actually go this to work?

Yes , the functionality is working properly. Maybe you check your customizing again and follow the steps of the SAP note exactly.
