The user experience for Concur Travel is changing today, 17th June 2016, most notably for searching transport and hotels.
The Concur June update had been delayed by a week, but now it is here and amongst other things it comes with a comprehensive re-design of the search functions and result lists in Travel.
With this change Concur aimed at – and in my opinion achieved – improved usibility for your travellers. You’ll find:
- More consistency: many differences in design, layout and language between the various segments (e.g. flights, trains, and rental cars) have been removed, so users get used to the system faster
- More clarity: some icons were just not intuitive and confused users. These have been replaced by plain text
- More information: in some cases extra informtation is now available at first sight, so users can make an informed decision quicker
Here is the new view of the Concur flight search:
It’s definitely an improvement. One little disappointment: I’d have loved them to add a „from“ price in small print on the first page of flight search „by schedule“. Even if you search primarily be schedule, you can still quickly rule out some flights by price, particularly on connections like London – Frankfurt or London – Dublin, where you can have 50 flights per day. I understand that it takes more time to add prices in the search, but in my opinion it would pay off as you wouldn’t have to click through that often.
