PY-GB: HMRC Works Number Missing in P60 and Other Reports

We found that some reports or forms, including the P60 and P45, that are required for year-end may fail or be incomplete, because the HMRC works number is missing in infotype 0065. The works number should be in field PA0065-WRKNO and is displayed (but can’t be edited) in infotype 0065.

You can also find the missing entries by reporting on the field through adHoc query or a data browser transaction line SE16 or SE16N.

So, why are they missing and how can you rectify this?

The field would have been filled with the personnel number during the EAS (Employer Alignment Submission) at RTI go-live. There are two possible reasons it may not have been filled:

• You didn’t run an EAS, because the number of employees on your payroll is small enough to make EAS non-compulsory
• You did run it, but didn’t tick the box „Update IT0065“ on the selection screen.

The cure is simple: just run the EAS submission report for the employees in question with „Test in live“ and „Update IT0065“ ticked on the selection screen for the 2013/2014 tax year and period end date 06.04.2014. This will fill the field and should resolve the issue in your form or report.
