One interesting part of the Concur solution portfolio is the payment service – most notably for customers not integrating with SAP Finance, or customers who want to be able to reimburse fast and independently of Finance payment cycles. Having seen the solution earlier, we at iProCon UK wanted to subscribe for our own system, but found out it’s not possible right now.
Concur Expense Pay looks like a perfect solution for us to simplify payment processes. With the right connection and paperwork established with your bank, payments can be triggered directly from Concur with no hassle. If you don’t import employee master records through an interface from another system like SAP HCM or employee central, it also offers users the option to capture their own bank data and comes with a verification process.
But it’s not only SMEs, who can benefit from Concur Expense Pay. For some large organisations the option to pay very quickly doesn’t only make employees happy: it can also help to get rid of the dreaded advance payments, the admin nightmare for many expense managers.
<Tip: at iProCon we pay a permanent advance to all frequent travellers. Whilst you may lose a bit of money due to forgone interest, it is by far outweighed by the process efficiencies, when you don’t have to track advance payments for each trip nor have any pressure to pay more than once a month. You just need to make sure the advance is within the tax free limit of your country to avoid taxes for an interest free loan considered a benefit in kind.>
Anyway, a little bit of research showed to our disappointment that the Concur Expense Pay (as well as the Invoice Pay) solution is currently not being sold in EMEA. This is not in line with some of the documentation / solution overviews available online. Existing customers are still supported and news about the solution is expected soon. So we hope it’ll be available again in the not too distant future.
