Some standard applications in the SAP Floorplan Manager (FPM), which are based on the Overview Page Floorplan (OVP), will sometimes error and create a short dump with no indication of what might have caused it.
One example is the application configuration HRESS_AC_CATS_1. If the user is not assigned to a personnel number, you get a dump with this cryptic error message:
500 SAP Internal Server Error
ERROR: Exception text – no ; Original Text: ID FPM_OVP_ERROR_PAG … (termination: RABAX_STATE)
There’s a SAP note to rectify this problem:
2099764 – FPM: OVP – Exception when calling error page in AppCC during FPM_START
Applying this note should ensure that a correct FPM error page is displayed when an error occurs in this context.
