Did you know that Concur release products update and enhancements every month? This month marks a start of Concur being more vocal about all the great enhancements and fixes being released, including UI changes, more options for rule building and e-receipt matching. Let’s take a look over the new releases for September and beyond.
The release notes can be found on the support portal, and here are some of our highlights.
- One of the more obvious changes that your users may notice, are changes to the Concur sign in pages due mid-October. The new screens look more fitting for such a dynamic and sleek product such as Concur.
- Other upcoming UI changes include; a clearer display for delegates/assistants of whom they are assisting in a session, and more intuitive searching for the Concur users to assist. Assisting for other in Concur is a neat little feature and making the display cleaner and clearer will only improve the Concur experience.
- A great feature of Concur for me, is its integration aspects such as with e-receipts automatically matching with your trip segments. An improvement is coming where, in times that the auto matching is not 100% correct, the matching can be done manually. Nothing in life is infallible, and so ensuring that you have a manual process to deal with anomalies is important – in the rather unlikely event that you will need to use it as far as I have found with the auto processing steps in Concur!
- On the Travel side of Concur, Concur Travel now supports the new 3 tier light, classic and flex fare structure from Lufthansa for users using Amadeus GDS, with Sabre GDS following suit in October. Also, for customers using Travelfusion GDS, Lufthansa will soon be available as a supplier.
- You will now be able to build travel rules based on ‘Does Not Contain’ criteria for fare basis codes. You can obviously build travel rules using ‘Does Contain’ criteria and so by Concur introducing the reverse as well, you can improve your travel rules to be as specific as you need them to be to support your travellers and keep them in line with your companies travel policies.
- Browser support for IE 8 and 9 will end on 12/02/2016 and a new report will help you identify any use on outdated browsers. The new report ‘Users by Browser’ can be found under the Administration > Company menu path. Apart from checking for outdated browsers being used by any of your users, this report can aid you in troubleshooting any problems that your users could find when using Concur that might be related to the browser compatibility. The report also contains last login date, IP address of where the device is and a total login count for a user. Run this report now to arrange for users to upgrade their browsers in time. From our Concur system, the only user to use IE9 for their last login was the Concur Support user – assuming they know about the change (!).

The support portal has a wealth of resources including KB articles, release notes and the solution suggestions. As we have seen from previous updates released by Concur, Concur actively listen to and develop the product based on customer suggestions and requests, and so all of our input will make Concur an even better product.
