Tips for SAP® HCM

Employee groupings: a dangerous pitfall in global SAP HCM

The groupings for employee groups and subgroups are used in various critical configuration tables throughout SAP HR, most notably in Payroll and Time Management. They are very useful to group employee groups/subgroups together under various criteria to assign them to a set of configuration entries like time quota, payroll calculation rule and more. Get to know why you have to be aware of using the same employee groupings for different countries.

ESS with EHP5 – Personal Profile and Salary Statement – Implemented in only 6 days

You are responsible for HR and are thinking about to implement Employee-Self-Services (ESS) within your SAP HCM? In the beginning it is not necessary to set up an extensive ESS project. With EhP5 you have the possibility to step by step set up and roll out single ESS services based on the web technology WebDynpro for ABAP, which requires less effort but still gives benefits for your employees. How we have implemented the Personal Profile and the Salary Statement

How to avoid the Security Pop-up whan up- or downloading files

Have you also seen this pop-up when you tried to up- or download files or lists from your SAP system? And did you ask yourself where this pop-up comes from and how to avoid it? First learn some basics about this topic and later read a step by step approach how to avoid the SAP GUI pop-up.

Jumping from SAP Query into HR master data

Queries are often used for quality checks on HR master data. Did you know you can jump into a transaction right from your query list? Once you know how to do it, it is actually quite easy to build an HR query, which allows you to get into the master data maintenance transaction for the selected employee with just one click. Learn how to implement an interactive SAP Query.

Customer checks in ESS via BAdI HRPAD00INFTYBL

You are using the new infotype framework (class based infotype logic) and you have implemented additional checks for infotypes via BAdI HRPAD00INFTYBL? You might have realised that all of a sudden your checks are not working anymore (exception CX_BADI_MULTIPLY_IMPLEMENTED). This might be caused by a program error. As of SAP note 1668794 a solution will be delivered with the next synchronisation HRSP available in June 2012. As for now please consider the instructions of this note for manual correction.

AUDIT: the „light“ alternative to a Park-and-Post-principle in HR – Auditing of critical master data changes

Do you check changes on critical HR master data and do you want to document it directly in the system and as an accepted proof for auditors? In this case our AUDIT tool is your solution. For a fixed price of EUR 3,000 or GB 2,500 + VAT we implement this tool as an interactive ABAP report and as a web application which shows the relevant or a random sample of changes to the responsible approvers. >>>more about the AUDIT tool from iProCon
